Areas of Practice

Adjustment of Status

Those already present in the United States may file for adjustment of status to that of legal permanent resident. Applicants need to navigate issues such as eligibility and inadmissibility.

Deportation defense

Those who find themselves with a hearing notice to appear in immigration court, or worse, have been detained need expert advice on what relief is available. Even those who have already received an order of deportation may have options.

Employer-Based Nonimmigrant petitions (H1b, l1a/b, etc.)

Employers may petition for certain employees/potential employees to enter the United States on a temporary basis. The requirements for each category are very specific, requiring careful review of, among other things, the job description/requirements and the employee/potential employee's skills and credentials.

Perm to green card

Employers may petition for certain employees to receive legal permanent resident status. It is a long and detailed process, but with careful planning, results in a more permanent status for employees.

Naturalization

Those pursuing citizenship in the United States must be eligible and also be able to fulfill language, civil, and good moral character requirements.

Other

Your particular situation may require different solutions (fiancé visa, VAWA petition, etc.) that are specific to your situation. An experienced immigration attorney can help guide you through those possibilities.
